semiconductors
• Install, rack, cable, label and maintain automotive development boards,
power-control units, network switches, serial-access devices, USB-SD
MUX devices, debuggers and supporting servers.
• Prepare and reconfigure board setups for development, CI, automation
use cases, including boot-mode selection, jumpers, DIP switches,
storage media and non-standard cabling.
• Perform first-level diagnosis and repair of unstable setups, damaged
cables, power issues, serial-access problems, storage-media failures
and connectivity faults; coordinate replacement or specialist support
when needed.
• Enable reliable remote power cycle/reset, serial console access, image
deployment and board reservation for shared hardware.
• Integrate boards with existing lab and test infrastructure and support
interfaces used by CI/CD and automated test campaigns.
• Work with test automation and CI engineers to reproduce setup-related
failures, distinguish infrastructure faults from software defects and
restore service quickly.
• Own the accuracy of the hardware inventory, setup identifiers, network
addressing, cabling maps, board revisions, accessories, ownership and
operational status.
• Create and maintain setup guides, recovery procedures, known-issue
notes and photographs or diagrams for supported hardware
configurations.
• Partner with Linux BSP development, testing, IT infrastructure and
security teams.
• Support new-product introduction and first-silicon activities by
preparing setups needed for remote work and continuous automated
testing.
To ensure your success in this role, the following experience is needed:
• Hands-on experience in an electronics, embedded systems, validation,
test or engineering lab environment.
• Practical knowledge of embedded development boards, power
supplies, serial consoles, storage media, Ethernet networking and
common lab cabling.
• Experience debugging and troubleshooting hardware issues using
multimeters, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers to diagnose electrical,
signal integrity, and communication problems.
• Comfortable working in Linux from the command line, including SSH, file
transfer, logs, permissions, networking checks and basic shell scripting.
• Ability to read board documentation, schematics or connection
diagrams and translate them into a working, repeatable setup.
• Structured troubleshooting approach and the discipline to document
symptoms, evidence, configuration and resolution.
• Good command of English, speaking and writing, and the ability to
collaborate with local and remote engineering teams.
• Electrical/electronics, computer engineering, automation,
telecommunications or a comparable technical education, or
equivalent practical experience.
The following skills are considered a plus:
• Automotive processors or NXP S32 platforms, such as S32N, S32G or
S32R.
• Embedded Linux and boot-flow familiarity, including U-Boot, Linux
kernel, Yocto-based images and serial-console diagnostics.
• Lab automation equipment and interfaces such as programmable
PDUs, USB-SD-MUX, relay/GPIO controllers, CAN interfaces, network
controlled switches or Lauterbach debuggers.
• CI/CD or automated test environments, particularly Jenkins-based
pipelines and board farms.
• Previous experience with Proxmox.
• Python or advanced shell scripting for monitoring, provisioning or
repetitive lab operations.
• Basic Git, issue tracking and service-management workflows;
exposure to Jira or ServiceNow is useful.
• Networking fundamentals including DHCP, DNS, VLANs, routing,
firewall constraints, TCP/IP troubleshooting and packet capture.
The team:
Both technical competency and attitude are important in our team. You
are expected to collaborate with local and global team members,
demonstrate independence in solving problems, take ownership from
symptom to resolution, and remain adaptable when priorities change. The
role requires a methodical, service-oriented working style and the ability to
balance planned lab improvements with urgent support for engineering
and release activities
