• Maintain database systems on a safe operational level with optimal performance and uptime
• Design and implement database systems aligned with business requirements
• Apply patches, upgrades, and changes as needed
• Roll out the existing Always On concept for critical production databases
• Support backup and recovery processes in collaboration with internal IT providers and customers
• Manage database user access and security hardening
• Monitor and resolve database issues using tools like Foglight, PRTG, ELK, Grafana, and Splunk
• Ensure seamless data synchronization and replication across distributed systems
• Conduct performance evaluations, tests, and analysis to ensure business continuity, data security, and integrity
• Define and enforce database policies, procedures, and standards
• Provide technical support to solve incoming incidents
• Troubleshoot database-related application issues with DevOps teams
• Contribute to conceptual work on database enhancements and extensions
• Train and support team members and DevOps teams in efficient database design
• Optimize query performance and implement indexing strategies
• 5-10 years of experience as a Senior DB Engineer/Administrator
• Hands-on experience with MSSQL and NoSQL databases
• Expertise in T-SQL, scripting, CASE tools, and third-party DB tools
• Deep understanding of monitoring, replication, reporting, and data security
• Familiarity with database design, documentation, and coding standards
• Microsoft Azure Database Administrator Associate certification (or equivalent) is a plus
• Experience with containerized databases (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift) is a plus
• Ensure seamless data synchronization & replication between distributed database systems across frontends and backends
• Strong problem-solving and algorithmic thinking
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complex topics
• Experience working in distributed, multicultural teams
• Business acumen and understanding of IT requirements
• Ability to manage fast-paced, context-switching environments
• Ensure seamless data synchronization & replication between distributed database systems across frontends and backends
