As the Senior Software Engineer, you will manage the complete platform and ensure it runs stable and high performance. You will be the technical expert in troubleshooting and system configuration in an enterprise solution landscape. You will handle IT support, evaluate technologies, develop automation scripts, and manage software defects while collaborating with stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Be the application owner for solutions in the Patent/Translate Solutions area, transforming business requirements into IT solutions and integrating them into the existing landscape
Manage the application lifecycle of the solution to ensure stability and optimal performance, including troubleshooting, configuration, application monitoring, and continuous improvement activities
Take responsibility for the IT solution support process, including the analysis and troubleshooting tickets, quality assurance of version releases in coordination with external support partners
Support continuous evaluationof used technology stacks through constant research and application of advanced technical, system infrastructure, and IT technology knowledge
Develop scripts and automate tasks to optimize performance of databases, web services and integration software
Collaborate with key business community to ensure a future proof IT and Business roadmap by leading projects with an end-to-end view with a strong focus on operations and support

You are best equipped for this task if you have:
A university degree in Informatics, Computer Science, Business Informatics, or a related field
At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in software development or technical consulting in an enterprise environment, with expertise in: Object-oriented programming languages such as Java, REST API development and web-based programming, including Spring MVC Framework, Servlets, JavaScript, JSON, and HTML
Knowledge in patent processes and solutions (e.g. Clarivate/Unycom) or translation solutions is an added advantage
Proficiency in managing web application servers such as ApacheTomcat, JBoss, and IIS
Experience working with various Windows Server environmentsfor Tomcat and IIS services, as well as Linux/Unix infrastructure (e.g., Red Hat, Solaris)
Knowledge of OpenShift Kubernetes (hybrid cloud platform) and server administration as added advantages
Proficiency in databases such as OracleSQL and MicrosoftSQL, with familiarity in PLSQL
Experience with software testing methodologies and debugging techniques
Fluent English language skills, basic German language skills are a plus
