In this role, you’ll play a pivotal part in designing, developing, and implementing high-performance PHP-based features for our iGaming platforms, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and security standards.
Lead the design, development, and implementation of complex PHP-based applications and features for our iGaming platforms.
Write clean, well-documented, and efficient PHP code adhering to industry best practices and coding standards.
Contribute to the architectural design and technical decision-making for new and existing systems.
Optimise application performance, scalability, and security.
Integrate with various internal and external APIs and services.
Develop and maintain unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure code quality and reliability.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues and bugs in a timely manner.
Collaborate effectively with product owners, designers, front-end developers, and QA engineers throughout the software development lifecycle.
Stay up-to-date with the latest PHP frameworks, tools, and industry trends, and advocate for their adoption where appropriate.
Participate in code reviews to provide constructive feedback and ensure code quality across the team.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of our development processes and methodologies.
Potentially mentor and guide junior PHP developers, sharing your knowledge and expertise.
Ensure compliance with relevant iGaming regulations and security standards.
Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
5+ years of proven experience in PHP development and software engineering, ideally within the iGaming industry.
Deep expertise in core PHP, design patterns, and modern PHP frameworks (e.g., Symfony, Laravel).
Strong proficiency in relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and efficient SQL. Experience with NoSQL databases is a plus.
Solid understanding of RESTful APIs, web services, and version control (Git).
Familiarity with front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and modern JavaScript frameworks is a significant advantage.
Experience with Docker and Kubernetes is highly desirable.
Experience with automated testing frameworks and security best practices for web applications.
Open to assuming on-call responsibilities following an initial period of system familiarization.
